Punta Carretas is a quiet residential area with leafy tree-lined streets. It is immediately adjacent to the neighborhood of Pocitos. In fact the two blend together to create perhaps the most enjoyable and convenient area and European lifestyle in Montevideo. In Punta Carretas you find many distinguished homes, restaurants, parks and the Punta Carretas Shopping (Mall) with a cinema-plex. Punta Carretas and Pocitos offer easy access to the waterfront walk known as the Rambla, built in stone in the 1920s and which stretches for miles from the Ciudad Vieja to the outer limits of the city.
